Hello Tripawds! A little about me….

Hello, Everyone!  My name is Mollie and I am a Shar-pei/Blood Hound mix.  I just turned 7 years old!  Sometimes my mom calls me Miss Mollie Moo!  My mom adopted me April 22nd, 2011.  I have a brother named Bear and sister named Ixora.  I love them sooo much!

June 2015 – My mom noticed a lump on my front right ankle.  She took me to the doctor on June 24th and they took x-rays on my leg and a chest x-ray.  The leg x-ray showed possible signs of bone cancer.  The chest x-ray was clear.  We went to an internal medicine doctor a week later and they did a aspiration needle biopsy and more chest x-rays.  The chest x-rays showed no tumors. The doctor said by looking at the leg x-ray, it looks like bone cancer.  She said the cancer probably has spread to my lungs but isn’t visible because it may be microscopic.  We didn’t really like the doctor we saw.  She treated us like we were just another patient with bone cancer.  Another specialist called us a week later and told us the sad news.  The cells from the needle aspiration showed Osteosarcoma.  My mom was so sad.  It took her a couple of weeks to accept the news.

I went back to Fairway Animal Hospital to see my favorite doctor, Dr. Turner.  Dr. Turner called her oncologist friends and researched information about my illness.  She said the best thing to do is amputate my leg.  This will relieve my pain and hopefully extend my life a little more so I can spend quality time with my family.  My mom and I are on this journey together and we want to share our journey with you!

Love,

Miss Mollie Moo

    Hello Miss Mollie Moo!

Nice to meet you, sorry for the reason why. My Dobe Nitro had his front leg amputated a year ago in June and is doing great! He will be 10 yrs old on Halloween, and also had cancer. I’m glad you have such a good mom who will be there every step of this journey. Good luck, you will be amazed at how well you adapt…the first couple of weeks can be a little “ruff”, but it does get better.

I’m in love! Your avatar picture is just full of sweetness adorableness!!

Yeah, I cried for weeks when my beloved Happy Hannah got her “diagnosis” and was in constant turmoil about what to do. I even scheduled her surgery and cancelled it the first time!

But it was what needed to be done to remove her pain (which started getting worse quickly) and give her a chance for more loving and spoiling and treats!!!!

Her recovery was rough. For the first three weeks I was hysterical lver what I had done TO my dog! But once her sparkle started comkng back it was bigger snd brighter than before! I was so grateful that I had done this FOR my beloved Happy Hannah!

No dog has a timeframe stamped in their butt! And Molly Moo never looks at a calendar! She’s living in the moment, in the now and not worrying about a thing! That is the lesson…their gift…to teach us to BE MORE DOG!! Let nothing rob you of your time together!! Make everyday count!

Stay connected! We are here with you!

Sending love to all your pack!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
