Wow!! It has been awhile since we wrote on our blog! Much has happened the last (almost) 3 weeks. I celebrated my one-month ampuversary! We went to post our good news but saw tripawds.com was updating their wonderful website. (We love the updates!!) It has been almost a month since my first chemo treatment. We went in on August 21st to have my blood work checked to see how my body was doing. The white blood count looked excellent, but my platelet count was at a low number 125,000. The day after I had blood work, my Shar-pei fever flared up. I didn’t feel well for a good 4 days. A couple of days I had no energy, I didn’t want to eat, and I didn’t want to go outside to go potty. I started to eat again and go potty but still had no energy. My mom has questioned going forward with the chemo. She doesn’t like to see me not feel well. We should go back on Friday to see the Dr and take more blood work. We think we will give it another go at it and see how I do. My mom is researching many supplements and says she gets overwhelmed because there are sooo many options. But she is on top of it and I know she will make the right decision for me.
On Wednesday, August 26th my mom, brother, sister and I were outside in the morning time. My mom was having her coffee and heard a noise. She looked over and saw I jumped up on our picnic table. She was happy to see that I was feeling way better! Of course, she helped me down because she didn’t want me to get hurt.
We started up our walks again and on Friday I went all the way down the block. I went fast down the street, but it took me a little longer going back home. And that is OK! I love to stop and smell the bushes and see if any neighbors are out 🙂 My mom worked at the hospital on Saturday, and when she came home she noticed my front paw was soooo swollen! My uncle Justin who was watching me told my mom I had slipped on the floor while going outside to go potty. But my mom thinks it could have been me overdoing it on my walk the day before. Thank goodness today the swelling in my paw-paw has gone down quite a bit. We will be taking it a little easy on the walks. My mom is also looking into rehab for me! I think I will really enjoy this 🙂
We were hoping to share some pics but I guess our files are too big now to put on the site 🙁 Hopefully we can figure something out because we like sharing pics!
Love from Mollie Moo and Family!! Xoxo
