Mollie Moo ~ First day of chemo

Today was my first day of chemo.  I went to the vet around 10am and came home around 5:30pm.  It was a long day but at least I was at a place I love (even if it’s for something not good…my first IV of chemo).  I also had a skin growth on my elbow on my front leg removed.  That skin growth has been sooo annoying, since that is now the elbow I lay on since I had my amputation.  My doctor took it off and put a stitch in and it looks and feels much better!  I will have the stitch removed in 2 weeks when I go back to get my blood work checked to make sure my white blood cell count is good to move forward for chemo treatment #2.

**While at the vet my brother Bear got to go to Antioch park to chase the geese around (not really, but they apparently ran quick when they saw him even on his leash.  He is a BIG boy!!)  They saw fish, frogs, and turtles in the pond.  When I feel better I can go with them :):)

Since I came home I have been really, really tired.  I ate all my dinner and have been resting ever since.  Not sure if it’s because I had a long day and/or if the chemo is making me tired.  My mom is worried and is hoping and praying I don’t get ill from this yucky drug.  I have anti-nausea meds to take the next two days.  I’m sure this will help me so I don’t get sick.  My mom took some pictures that we will share with you 🙂

Last night I rested well for my big day!

Good for you Mollie Moo for being so brave at your first chemo session…Nitro never minded that either, he also loves his vet! Keep up the good work and tell your mom it’s ok to be a little tired after a long day at the office. You can do this!

Oh Mollie Moo, you just melt my heart every single time I see your pictures!! I bet you get more kisses in that adorable mug of yours in one day than most dogs do in years!!

Staying at a vet’s all day IS exhausting all by itself, even without the chemo. I was very lucky in that I could take Happy Hannah in for her scheduled appointment and wait for her. The whole process seemed like it barely took more than a half hour. Even that little bit (although it was almost two hours of drive time) .ade her pretty tired the rest of the day.

Dont you worry Mollie Moo, you’ll be chasing geese with Bear in no time!

BTW, that first picture if you is just about THE most comfortable looking position I think I’ve ever seen a dog sleep in! Still grinning over here!

And that’s a splendid dinner bowl too!

    Lots of hugs to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Don’t worry Mollie, chemo makes everyone tired but usually it doesn’t last more than a day or two. It’s not a big deal and you’re a strong, healthy, hoppy girl so we know you can overcome it. Hope you’re feeling good today!
